Juiced HyperScorpion – Full-Featured Moped Styled E-bike

The HyperScorpion e-Bike from Juiced has riders raving about the extra amenities. This e-bike has a striking resemblance to a moped in more ways than just appearance. As such, it covers all the essential needs of a typical e-bike rider and more.

Powerful Bafang Motor 

The HyperScorpion Bafang RetroBlade motor is exclusive to the Juiced brand and is integrated into the rear hub. It pulls out an impressive 1,000W of continuous power that peaks at around 1,800W. This is a third stronger than the Scorpion and allows this e-bike to reach incredible speeds of 30mph+ without the throttle. 

Strong Battery Capacity

The 52V, 15.6Ah (or 19.2Ah) electric battery allows for an amazing 50-70 miles worth of ride time on a full charge. The rule of thumb is the bigger the battery, the better the speed and the longer the riding range. 

Detachable Battery 

The total charge time is nine hours, which is more than enough for daily riders who ride for work or those performing weekend chores. The battery is detachable, which allows for charging on or off the frame, and it can be locked in place to avoid thieves and accidental displacement. 

Full Suspension

The HyperScorpion has the same Mozo fork as the Scorpion, with around 30mm travel. It also has the same adjustable dual (front and back end) suspension. 

The Right Amount of Pedal Assist 

The pedal assist consists of both torque and cadence, which applies the proportionate power based on pedal force. The amount of sensitivity from the cadence sensor helps cut down on lag and better determines energy output. 

Seat Adjustment Option

The seat is rather tall compared to other e-bikes. It sits 33″ tall and suits riders 5’2″ and up. For the much taller riders, an elevated seat option is available, which adds an extra two and a half inches of height. Its seat is very “moped-like,”  being longer and thicker than a traditional bike saddle. The “bike-like” feel comes back with adjustable handlebars, which make upright riding possible. 

Grippy Tires 

The tires haven’t been upgraded from the Scorpion, which is still Innova brand 20″x4.25″ fat tires resistant to puncture. These tires are mounted on custom-cast aluminum wheels. They’ve got a street-sticky quality to them, which makes the e-bike easy to ride on any terrain. 

Practical Saftey Features 

This e-bike is equipped with side mirrors, rear brake lights, and turn signals, which aren’t necessarily essential for street legality, but still, give it a practical aesthetic. These features also provide an extra mode of safety for riders and everyone else on the road as well – especially for a bike that can ride faster than 20mph. Non-e-bike enthusiasts probably won’t understand just how zippy e-bikes can be and likely won’t be looking out for too many on the road. Quality Brakes 

The brakes are good quality Tektro hydraulic disc brakes that provide adequate stopping power. The hydraulic nature of these brakes allows the ride to apply less pressure to stop, saving the brake pads for longevity. Color Options 

The HyperScorpion comes in three colors – brushed aluminum, black, and electric blue. The design is step-through, making it easily mountable for those with joint and lower back issues. It’s also a favorite among women and others who prefer not to throw a leg over the middle of the bike. 

Back-Lit LCD Screen

The back-lit LCD screen is handlebar integrated and can be seen any time of day. It displays real-time metrics, like speed, battery life, riding modes, and turning on the 2,000-lumen LED headlight. You can customize the five riding modes from the display: ECO mode, sport mode, and race mode.

Alarm System 

Other cool features of the HyperScorpion are the horn and alarm system, the USB port to power mountable devices, and the rear rack for easy cargo mounting with an included 50lb weight capacity.

PROS

• Comfort & Safety: The headlight, rear brake light, side mirrors, and directional indicators are fantastic additions to an e-bike in terms of safety. Everyone else on the road will be able to see where you are and where you’re going, and you can see them before you decide to proceed. Plus, it helps to have these features on a 50+ mile ride. For a range that large, you'll never get uncomfortable, thanks to the oversized seat.
• Speed: If you’ve never ridden an e-bike before, you might be surprised by just how fast these bad boys can go. For speed demons, the zippy nature of the HyperScorpion is no joke. You will get wherever you need to go faster than you think.

CONS

• Weight: The HyperScorpion is heavy! Unless you're really strong, you'll have trouble lifting this 102lb behemoth by yourself. Its bulky build might make it hard to fit in a trunk or hatch, but if you can manage to lift it, you could fit it in the bed of a truck.
